Job Summary:
Seeking a responsible, caring and energetic After-School Coordinator to oversee an educational after-school program for students. This role involves managing the attendance of students, ensuring student safety, maintaining communication with parents, school administrators, and partners.
Responsibilities:
Program Management:

Coordinate, and implement activities for students before the after-school programs begin that align with student interests.

Provide snacks and ensure a clean and organized space.

Ensure activities are inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for students.

Manage check-in and and dismissal procedures to ensure the well-being of children participating in the program

Student Supervision & Safety:

Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment for students.

Address and resolve student behavior issues in collaboration with instructors and parents.

Enforce safety procedures, emergency protocols, and behavior management.

Handle student behavior management and conflict resolution effectively.

Communication & Collaboration:

Act as the primary liaison between school administration, teachers, and parents during the program hours.

Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student daily progress and updates.

Collaborate with the Program Manager to implement structured activities and ensure program goals are met.

Administrative Duties:

Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and student progress.

Prepare reports for school administration and teachers as necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
-
Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
-
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
-
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Must possess a current FCPS Badge or be willing to undergo a background check and fingerprinting process to obtain one

Preferred:

Experience managing after-school or youth programs.

Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies.

Bilingual skills are a plus.
Schedule and Compensation:
-
Hours typically align with after-school programming (e.g.,3:00 PM – 5:00 PM), with some flexibility required for planning and meetings.

The program runs seasonally Monday through Thursday.

This is a 1099 Contract Position.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
